With our sister site at The Forge & Fern winning friends, and awards, on Staple Hill since the summer of 2022, we started looking for our next Forges site.
It didn’t take long before the team were intrigued by a disused patch of wasteland where Chalks Road meets Church Road, near the entrance to leafy St. George’s Park in bustling St. George.
With more research we uncovered more about the site, a former Post Office, so ready-made as a place to meet. Many of our team haled from the area and raved about the St. George community, its cultural vibrancy and creativity. We were sold!
From our time in St. George, we already know that you guys are smart, shrewd, and playful just like our mischievous urban friends and just like our Forge & Fern name we were keen to acknowledge our past which started on the site on an old Forge whilst embracing the future. We give you, The Forge & Fox.
Church Rd is such a vibrant area which just keeps getting better and we can’t wait for the addition of The Forge & Fox-a new bar and cafe is only going to make the area an even more brilliant place to live! Meg Pope - local resident
If you have already visited us on Staple Hill – thank you, so you will know that our menu champions local growers, makers, and producers (see our foodie map) and our kitchen has grown a reputation for our killer breakfasts, brilliant burgers, delicious small plates and more. We distil our own Forges Gin, we make our own award-winning honey, and grow our own herbs too!
