And after 3 happy years on Staple Hill, we have embarked on our next adventure and your next Forge, The Forge & Pheasant, in the most opulent of homes on Hartham Park Estate, an exquisite Georgian Mansion set within fifty acres of Cotswold Parkland, 15 minutes from Bath in leafy Wiltshire.
Hartham Park has an interesting history, including being a home to WAAFs during WW2, hosting Winston Churchill on several occasions, and sports lovers might like to know that the MCC, Marylebone Cricket Club’s famous Egg & Bacon tie, got its colours due to the previous owners, Nicholson Gin, saving Lord’s Cricket Ground from development!
We encourage you to read more about Hartham’s incredible history here at your leisure. In truth, we urge you to visit, and our café restaurant isn’t the only reason why! Hartham Park has a Mansion House, a manicured garden and Yew Tree Walk, The Lady’s Walk, by renowned landscaper Harold Peto, a lake with resident Canadian Geese, a Stické tennis court (of which there are only 3 in the world!) a mile-long estate walk taking in the solar farm, a butterfly-friendly wildflower meadow, bee hives and an interactive maze.
Alongside the Estate Team at Hartham, we have added a kids’ nature trail and a fun history trail.
Like The Forge & Fern, The Forge & Pheasant is a place to breakfast like a champion, to brunch, lunch and munch with your favourites, the perfect setting to park the pooch and grab a post walk-warming coffee, a respite to de-stress after the school run with a coffee and a cake – actually this is a place to eat cake at any given time!
We have taken YOUR favourite, most talked about dishes to the countryside, alongside a menu developed by our Forges chef team that celebrates good old-fashioned food in the most stunning of settings.
We hope to see you there soon.
